4 Simple Bedtime Routines For an Acne-Free Beauty Sleep

The nighttime skincare routine can be even more important than the morning one. Skin cells regenerate at a faster rate overnight than they do during the day, meaning attention must be paid to the finer details come bedtime. If you don’t give your skin the TLC it deserves, the dirt and oils can prevent the skin cells from regenerating, causing breakouts, premature ageing and skin damage.

#1 -Remove Makeup and Cleanse

After a long, hard day – we know how tempting it is to fall into bed with a face full of makeup. However, you must always scrub your face clean. Cosmetics clog pores and can cause a build up of oils, leading to acne, redness and irritation. Even if you never wear makeup, everyday dirt and grime from throughout the day have similar pore clogging effects. Avoid using face washes with harsh skin-sloughing exfoliants, and ones that have synthetic fragrances, surfactants and over-drying ingredients like benzoyl peroxide. Instead, try a moisturizing, gentle option, especially organic, plant-based ones with no nasty chemicals in it!

After scrubbing your face with a cleanser, your skin needs some hydrating. Moisturizer is the key to giving your face that healthy glow. When we sleep, our skin is given the chance to repair itself.
