Bedtime Rituals

We all know the importance of getting a good night’s sleep for our physical and mental health. But did you know what you do prior to falling asleep can have a profound effect on the quality of your ensuing sleep? Setting up some bedtime rituals to follow before nodding off can help you release the day’s tensions and anxieties. This not only can help you fall asleep faster, but can even help you sleep better! Check out our favorite bedtime rituals below:

1: Set the Mood with Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy has many wellness benefits among them are the reduction of anxiety and helping to induce sleep. Perhaps the best way to enjoy some aromatherapy in your room is to use essential oils and a diffuser. We like to use ceramic diffusers and two of our favorites are from Edens Garden and The Good Night Co. Simply drop your favorite essential oils into the diffuser and enjoy! The best part is there are endless combinations of oils to try. One our personal favorite combos to set a calming mood is lavender and lemongrass.

2: Find Your Favorite Night Drink and Stay Hydrated!

Staying hydrated is one of the most important factors for your overall health, and nighttime is no different – as you’ll be asleep for a number of hours without drinking! We love to have a warm cup of caffeine-free tea before bed. Warm water will increase blood circulation and help your body rid itself of unwanted toxins while you sleep. We are obsessed with the organic teas from Love Tea. For an added dose of anti-anxiety you might look into adding a few drops of CBD oil. If straight tea isn’t your thing or you just want to try something new check out these awesome sleep drinks from Som Sleep. They are formulated to help your body prepare and have an excellent night’s sleep.

3: Turn Off Your Screens!

As we covered in our previous article on blue light. It’s important to turn off all screens at least 30 minutes before bed. This will help your body prepare to go to sleep. Give yourself some meditation time, read a book, or listen to some calming music!

Step 4: Lay Down in Your Comfy Sheets and Close Your Eyes

Obviously one of the most important things you can do for a good night’s sleep is to have a comfy bed to lay in with the highest quality sheets. Of course we recommend to use our CleanBamboo™ sheets made with 100% organic bamboo. These sheets are naturally hypoallergenic, temperature regulating, and are even better for your hair – as they are silky smooth so there is less friction compared with traditional cotton sheets. Not only that, but our sheets are super eco-friendly – so you can drift off to sleep easily knowing you helped to keep our environment clean.
