How did you transition to a Clean Beauty routine?
Over time, the more I have become educated about ingredients and/or materials as well as their origin and footprint the easier it has been to make conscious decisions on what I put in and on my body. My life is centered around dance and food, the cleaner my routine is the better my performance, creativity, and drive are!
What was the most important step in moving towards a clean beauty practice?
Education is the most important step, there is so much knowledge to be gained in terms of what’s best for us as individuals and the environments we live in. I source local ingredients that support a healthy lifestyle while also supporting my community. A perfect example is my face cream from Tremblay Apiaries, a propolis and essential oil salve, where I also buy honey & bee pollen to cook with.
How have clean beauty practices affected your life, inside and out?
My life as a dancer and chef is rooted in ritual and routine. Each day is filled with designated increments of time for my mind, body, and soul. Exercise, delicious and beautiful food, laughter, great communities of people and as much sunshine as I can get!
What are your tips for shopping clean and sustainable?
Everything circles back to the basic statement that knowledge is power. I strive to absorb nature’s wealth the purest way I can whether that’s in buying local and sustainable foods to purchasing goods made with integrity. I think the hardest thing is going back to basics. We don’t need so much stuff. Our minds and bodies prefer clarity. The less distracted by trends the better.

Have you found that your overall health and quality of life has been affected by sustaining Clean Beauty practices?
Hell yes! Life is epic and I live it to the fullest. Be kind and joyous. Be creative and focused. Be unique and compassionate. Those are my duties and ultimately what makes my life beautiful.
