What is bamboo used for?
Bamboo has many uses and is considered one of the most versatile resources on the planet. Considered to be a “green gold” with uses ranging from infrastructure, textiles such as bedding, food source, as well as a tool for environmental restoration.
Bamboo, a Sustainable Alternative to Cotton
Most bedding products on the market are made with cotton. However cotton is actually one of the dirtiest crops, consuming 11% of the world’s pesticides and 24% of the world’s insecticides. Consumers may prefer to buy cotton because its durable and think they are better for the environment than synthetic materials made from petroleum like polyester and nylon, but not many of them are aware of other sustainable, healthier alternatives, such as using organic raw bamboo. We here at Ettitude, are the first company to revolutionize bedding fabric in the luxury bedding industry with our world first 100% Organic Bamboo Lyocell fabric.
Compared to traditional cotton, the retail standard for bedding, our bamboo lyocell uses 7.6 times less land to grow, 5.2 times less water and 3.5 times less pounds of heat trapping gas (greenhouse gases).
Sustainability is at the core of everything we do, all our products are made ethically with pure organic certified raw bamboo. Our bamboo is 100% sourced from FSC-certified forests as we don’t tolerate any exploitation of resource under our brand.
We have developed the world’s most sustainable fabric 100% Organic Bamboo Lyocell; it is an innovative textile made from organic bamboo using an award winning sustainable closed loop system which water is recycled and reused up to 200 times. Traditional lyocell is made with wood pulps but ours is made with the magic of our bamboo.
